Like the first program I ever wrote in Computer Science class, this is the first post I've ever made to a blog. So it's sort of just a test to see if I can do it and as time passes it'll get more complicated and more in depth, which will probably mean more thought will have to go into it.
I'll give you a brief synopsis of who I am and if you're interested read on.
My name is Jeff. I was born, raised and currently reside in Saint Louis, MO. My parents are Chinese and moved to the US about 30 years ago. They are among the most successful people I know, not because of wealth but because of the hard work they put into making it as far as they have. I have a brother who is married and has a child, him and his wife are both physicians and I suspect my nephew will be as intelligent as them some day.
Me? I'm an engineer. I have my computer science degree from Mizzou and an MBA from Washington University in Saint Louis. To be honest, I haven' t used a single skill that I've acquired from either degree at my current job. Sadly that doesn't surprise me because, as with most jobs today, it seems like the most mentally challenging thing I have to deal with are the people. They all seem to be mentally challenged... haha, not so funny...
Since this is my blog, here's more background on me. I've ran seven marathons, starting in October '06 - Chicago, IL; February '07 - Birmingham, AL; April '07 - Saint Louis, MO; October '07 - Milwaukee, WI; January '08 - Phoenix, AZ, October '08 - Denver, CO; January '09 - Orlando, FL. To me, running is a meditation time, a time for me to get away from life and all the problems that I think I have. It's relaxing and it's good for you too...
As the posts continue I'm sure you'll be able to draw more information about me. I tend to put a lot of myself in to what I write, and most of my outlooks and attitudes have a link to past experiences.
